6. Use of Video-Platforms (Vimeo)

Our online platform uses embedded videos from Vimeo, a service of Vimeo, Inc. (555 West 18th Street New York, New York 10011; „Vimeo“). As soon as you visit a part of our website with an embedded video page, you will be connected to Vimeo's servers and Vimeo will be informed on which site you are currently on. Starting the video can trigger further data processing. We have no further influence on that. For more information about privacy on Vimeo, see their privacy notice at https://vimeo.com/privacy

7. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service offered by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files that are stored on your computer and that enable the analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In case the IP anonymization function is activated on this website, the IP addresses of users within the member states of the European Union or other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area are truncated by Google beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and truncated there. Google will use this information to analyze your use of this website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to the website activity and internet usage on behalf of the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser to Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. You can configure your browser to block the use of cookies; however, we would like to point out that disabling the use of cookies may limit the functionality of this website. In addition, you may prevent the cookie from collecting and transmitting your website usage data (incl. your IP address) to Google as well as the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available from following link http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

This website uses Google Analytics with the “_anonymizeIp()” extension. This truncates the IP addresses before they are further processed to rule out a direct personal reference.

We use Google Analytics to analyze the usage of our website and regularly optimize it. The statistics enable us to improve our services and make them more interesting to you as a user. For the exceptional cases in which personal data are transmitted to the US, Google is subject to the EU-US Privacy Shield. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1(a) of the GDPR.

More information on the data processing by Google can be found in Google’s privacy policy: www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

8. Marketo

With your consent, we use the services of the company Marketo EMEA Limited to send our newsletters and other mailings (call for papers), to administer advertising permissions and to collect statistical data on the use of our website and to optimize our offer accordingly.

Marketo also uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of the use of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is transmitted to a server of Marketo (in an EU / EEA country) and stored there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Marketo uses this information to evaluate the use of the website by registered persons and to compile reports on website activity. You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website in full.

Tracking pixels and how to prevent it: We point out that Marketo evaluates your user behavior when sending the newsletter or other requested information on our behalf. For this evaluation, the emails sent contain so-called web beacons, also called tracking pixels. These are one-pixel image files that link to our website, allowing us to evaluate your user behavior on a session-by-session basis. In doing so, we record when you read our newsletter, which links you click in and then deduce your personal interests. The information collected in this way is stored by Marketo on its server in the EU / EEA.

Tracking is not possible if you have disabled the display of images in your e-mail program by default. However, in this case the newsletter will not be displayed completely and you may not be able to use all the features. If you display the images manually, the above tracking is done.

9. DoubleClick

With your consent, our website uses the online marketing tool DoubleClick by Google. DoubleClick uses cookies to serve ads that are relevant to users, to improve campaign performance reports, or to prevent a user from seeing the same ads multiple times. Google uses a cookie ID to determine which ads are shown in which browser and can prevent them from being displayed multiple times. In addition, DoubleClick uses cookie IDs to track so-called conversions related to ad requests. For example, if a user sees a DoubleClick ad and later goes to the advertiser's website with the same browser and buys something there. According to Google, DoubleClick cookies do not contain personally identifiable information.

Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by the use of this tool by Google and therefore inform you to the best of our knowledge: By including DoubleClick, Google receives the information that you access the corresponding part of our website or clicked an ad from us. If you're registered with a service provided by Google, Google may associate the visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, there is a chance that the provider will find and store your IP address.

You can prevent participation in this tracking process in several ways: a) by adjusting your browser software accordingly, in particular, the suppression of third-party cookies will prevent you from receiving any third-party ads; b) by disabling the cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain "www.googleadservices.com", https://www.google.com/settings/ads, this setting is deleted when you delete your cookies; c) by deactivating the interest-based advertisements of the providers that are part of the "About Ads" self-regulation campaign via the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, this setting being deleted when you delete your cookies; d) by permanent deactivation in your browsers Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome under the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. We point out that in this case you may not be able to use all features of this offer in full.
